Over the past week we have been bombarded with new, exciting and ever so slightly confusing information about the elusive 'Unit X'. At the minute my mind is filled with hundreds of different thoughts and directions in which I can take this project along. I plan to complete further research into these initial ideas and create some lists so that I can formulate some form of plan.
My most inspiring lecture this week came from Dave Haslam on Tuesday, his lecture told us to stop focusing on the mainstream and to starting looking at the margins. He explained to us how bands across Manchester had started from such humble beginnings in run down pubs and rooms, yet they had gone on to make dramatic influences into popular culture. They wanted to create something new that was their own with their own rules and ideas, and here we are creating our own starting point down in the basement of Hotspur House.
