Sampling Evaluation
At times I have found this project difficult, having the Christmas half
term interrupting it in the middle made it a struggle for me to get
into my work. I found at the beginning of the project before we went away i was
eager to start something new and fresh, it was a chance for me to get my ideas
flowing once again. I need to learn to be able to motivate myself in the future
as often I can be easily distracted.
Overall with this
project I am quite impressed at the new skill which I have acquired, the
project has been a great learning process for me. There are a lot of areas of
improvement that I shall take from this project in order to improve my next
one. I know that I need to push myself to keep up my blog, when I get going
with my blog it really helps me to generate work and analyse my project. Also I
want to try and get the stamina that I started off with at the beginning of the
project and make myself continue it throughout. I believe that I will be able
to achieve this through generating large amounts of research this way
I will always be exploring new ideas and giving myself inspiration to work
from at all times.
I feel that the
group projects that we have been set throughout this project have been quite
inspiring for me and my work. They have encouraged me to look more at the
colour that I use within a project and also what media I use to create these
pieces. Why should I stick to using only paintbrushes, I need to branch out and
stop limiting myself?
At the start of
this project my sketch book was very useful and a way for me to layout my work
and then take new ideas from what I could see on the page. I think I’m quite
good at laying out my work on a page, I was taught how to do this in my
foundation year and I feel the way I present my work often highlights the
potential.
I have experimented quite a lot with Photoshop and machine
embroidery, I know I could have improved my sampling if I was to go on to mix
the two medias together, I haven’t had a chance to do this yet however I will
go on to try this in my next project.
Within this project I think I have improved on my drawing and mark
making skills, experimenting with my drawing is something I shall continue to
do in the future. However I know that if I was to start again I would aim to be
a lot more motivated over the Christmas half term as I think the lack of time
that I gave myself may have hindered my project.
